FIFTH DAY OF SCHOOL INDUCTION

SCHOOL INDUCTION PROGRAMME DAY- 5
OCTOBER 25,2024

Today was the last day of our school induction program at GHSS Jawahar, Ayoor. It was a rainy day. As usual we reached school by 9.30 AM. We signed the attendance register and checked in with the concerned teacher about todays class schedule. In the mean time , Jaseena Miss of our college visited school to observe our senior trainees. So we had the pleasure of meeting her and shared our experiences with her.

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
At 10:00 AM, the prayer started, marking the beginning of class time. Today was our last day at school. We had two observation classes with the subject teacher. By 12:45 PM, the lunch break began and we served lunch to the students. Today's meal included rice, tapioca and chicken curry. We also got to eat with them and food was delicious. Since this was our last day at school, we asked HM Deepa Miss to verify and seal our attendance register. The six student trainees also bought some sweets-laddu and jalebi- for the teachers and non-teaching staffs. We distributed the sweets to them expressed our gratitude and said goodbye to them.  We had a substitution period in 8B for the last hour, where we entertained the students with songs and conservation. Due to heavy rain, school ended at 3:00 PM and all the students left. We signed and marked our last day at school by taking same photos.

REFLECTION ON CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY
At 11:30 AM during the third period, we had an observation class in 8B, Malayalam medium. The total strength was 17, with 9 students present. The subject teacher, Athira Miss, covered the topic of indigenous varieties of bananas and jackfruit on the laptop and asked the students to identify them. The teacher had the students write notes in their science diaries and chart preparations helped them understand the material more clearly. She also asked questions throughout the lesson. The teaching aids used included the blackboard, chalk, laptop and charts. We also had the opportunity to observe a class in 9B, where the total strength was 8 students and all were present. The teacher explained the kidney and its external features, drawing diagrams on the blackboard and teaching each part while asking students to take notes in their science diaries. She engaged each student with questions. Both classes were highly interactive and helped us learn how to conduct classes better.
