 HEALTH EDUCATION CLASS

OCTOBER 07,2024

On October 7, our college hosted a health education class led by Dr. V. K. Jayakumar, the esteemed founder chairman of the Sabarigiri Group of Institutions. The session, held in the general hall, commenced at 2:00 PM and was attended by teachers, staff, the principal, and first-year students. This enriching lecture provided an in-depth understanding of human health, focusing on the roles and interconnections of various body organs.

Dr. Jayakumar began by explaining the functions of major organs like the liver, kidneys, and heart, emphasizing their importance in maintaining overall well-being. He highlighted how neglecting organ health could lead to severe consequences, such as chronic diseases, inflammation, and organ dysfunction. The audience learned about the impact of poor lifestyle habits and how adopting healthy practices can protect these vital systems.

The session was filled with practical health tips, including staying hydrated, consuming a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and ensuring adequate sleep. Dr. Jayakumar demonstrated simple exercises suitable for beginners and discussed the importance of stress management techniques like meditation and deep breathing. These insights underscored the role of holistic care in promoting physical and mental health. Hygiene and its connection to well-being were another key focus of the lecture. Dr. Jayakumar elaborated on daily practices to maintain hygiene and prevent common health issues. Additionally, he shared valuable dietary advice to help prevent lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, heart ailments, and certain cancers. His expertise and personal anecdotes as a doctor enriched the session, making it relatable and impactful for the audience.

The program concluded at 3:45 PM, with me, providing feedback on the session. The principal, Dr. Roy G., delivered a vote of thanks, expressing deep appreciation for Dr. Jayakumar’s effort to enlighten the students on the importance of health and wellness.

This session served as a powerful reminder of the need to prioritize health in our daily lives. By understanding how our body functions and adopting healthier habits, we can work towards a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
