 NATIONAL UNITY DAY

OCTOBER 30, 2024

Every year, on October 31st, India observes National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Patel, famously known as the "Iron Man of India," played a crucial role in India’s struggle for independence and served as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India. His dedication to uniting the country and integrating the princely states into the Union of India earned him a lasting place in India’s history.

On October 30th, our college celebrated National Unity Day to honor the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The program began at 10:00 AM in the general hall, with students, teachers, and staff gathering to reflect on Patel’s vision of a united and strong India. Aravind initiated the event with an informative introduction, followed by Ashna’s insightful presentation on Patel’s role in India’s national unity. Ashna highlighted Patel’s determination and vision, emphasizing the need for unity in India’s progress. Following this, Aravind led the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge, reminding everyone of their commitment to maintaining India’s unity and integrity. Ammu Lekshmi then presented a thought-provoking poster that symbolized the importance of national unity, showcasing her artistic talents and dedication to the cause. Pooja’s PowerPoint presentation elaborated on Patel’s life, contributions, and the historical significance of National Unity Day, inspiring the audience to reflect on the value of unity in today’s diverse and inclusive society.

The program concluded with a motivating speech from our principal, Dr. Roy G, who emphasized the relevance of Sardar Patel’s vision in contemporary times and encouraged students to uphold unity and integrity in their lives. Jaseena Miss, the NSS coordinator, ensured the smooth execution of the event, making it a meaningful tribute to Sardar Patel’s unwavering commitment to a united India.
