NSS- SWACHHATA HI SEVA

 SWACHHATA HI SEVA- 2024

17 SEPTEMBER-02 OCTOBER 2024

As part of the NSS Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative, our college organized various cleaning and awareness programs to promote cleanliness and environmental conservation. The activities included campus cleaning, an awareness program, tree plantation, cleaning of public spaces, house visits, and distribution of informational notices.

These programs were efficiently coordinated by our NSS Program Officer, Jaseena Miss, ensuring their smooth execution and active participation from all students.

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative, our NSS team engaged in several impactful activities promoting cleanliness and awareness.

On September 27, a group of ten students—Pooja, Jerin, Muhsina, Nuju, Malavika, Arjun, Aravind, Shamnad, Anuroop, and I—reached Kottarakkara at 8 AM for an outdoor cleaning drive. Alongside workers from other schools, colleges, the municipality, and Haritha Karma Sena, we cleaned the bus stand and the main highway by collecting plastics and other waste. It was a remarkable display of teamwork and collaboration. On the same day, other students from our college cleaned the areas outside the campus.

Our Sabarigiri College of Teacher Education proudly participated in the Vimukthi Painting Campaign at the Excise Range Office in Kollam. Represented by Shifana and Soorya, our talented students showcased their artistic skills and contributed to a collective effort aimed at spreading awareness through creative expression. Their participation emphasized our college’s commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement, making a lasting impact through art. The event was initially scheduled for September 28 but had to be postponed to October 5 due to sudden climate changes.

On October 1, a group of ten NSS volunteers participated in a cleaning drive at Kollam Beach, working alongside volunteers from other colleges.

Simultaneously, back at the college, notices emphasizing the importance of waste management and cleanliness were distributed to houses in the college locality.

On October 1, our campus was also cleaned, and trees were planted by us to promote environmental conservation.

These activities not only emphasized the significance of cleanliness but also showcased the spirit of teamwork and community service among our students.
