A VISIT TO ART AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION
AN INSPIRING VISIT TO LEXICON ARTS AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION
January 17, 2025
On January 17, 2025, we, the B.Ed. trainees, had the privilege of visiting the Lexicon Arts and Science Exhibition organized by the Sabarigiri Govt. DMLT Institute. The exhibition was a wonderful fusion of creativity, knowledge, and innovation, leaving us amazed by the dedication of the students.
One of the main themes of the exhibition was infertility and reproductive health. Detailed models of male and female reproductive organs, zygotes, embryos, sperms, and ova were showcased. Students explained various conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts. The process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) was also illustrated, along with diet plans and foods that help boost fertility for both men and women. The presentation was both informative and engaging.
Another section focused on laboratory instruments and techniques. Visitors were introduced to various lab equipment and separation methods used in medical and scientific studies. Students also provided valuable insights into the current HMPV virus, explaining its symptoms and preventive measures.
The creative side of the exhibition was equally captivating. Handmade crafts and paintings were beautifully displayed, students displayed detailed still models of iconic buildings and structures from each district of Kerala. The craftsmanship and effort behind these creations were highly commendable and added a vibrant touch to the event.
In addition to science and art, the exhibition addressed mental health issues. A student gave an insightful talk on depression, its effects on individuals, and the available diagnostic methods. The explanation was both heartfelt and educational, shedding light on a critical topic.
The final section of the exhibition explored various diseases and disorders. Conditions like varicose veins, pancreatic stones, kidney stones, chronic pancreatitis, gall bladder stones, and lung stones were explained in detail. The mention of lung stones, a lesser-known condition, intrigued many of us. Cholera, its causative organism, and related details were also discussed, highlighting the importance of hygiene and awareness.
The Lexicon Arts and Science Exhibition was an incredible experience that blended education with creativity. It was a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of the students who organized it. We left with a deeper appreciation for the subjects presented and the effort that went into making the event a success.
