IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE LEGENDARY P. JAYACHANDRAN

 MELODY AND MEMORIES

P. Jayachandran, fondly known as Bhava Gayakan, was a legendary Indian playback singer celebrated for his soulful and emotive voice. Born on March 3, 1944, in Kerala, he mesmerized audiences with his music across multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. With over 16,000 songs to his credit, he worked with iconic composers like G. Devarajan, M. S. Baburaj, and Ilaiyaraaja. His contributions earned him prestigious awards, including a National Film Award and multiple state awards. Jayachandran’s music continues to inspire generations, making him a cherished icon of Indian cinema. He passed away on January 9, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy.

On January 10, 2025, we organized a remembrance program for the legendary playback singer P. Jayachandran in the college general hall at 9:45 am. The event was anchored by Ameena. Principal Roy Sir delivered a heartfelt speech honoring the memory of the Bhava Gayakan. This was followed by Riya, who gave an inspiring speech about his life history, and Lekshmi, who highlighted the numerous awards he received during his illustrious career. A soulful musical tribute was then performed by the students, with Reeba, Aiswarya, Alaka, Pooja, and Joyce as the singers. The program concluded with a few reflective words from Prathibha Miss, leaving everyone deeply moved.
