WORLD BRAILLE DAY-NSS PROGRAMME

World Braille Day: A Tribute to Inclusivity and Innovation

January 06,2025

On January 06, the NSS unit of our college organized a meaningful program to observe World Braille Day in the general hall at 9:45 am. The world braille day is observed on January 4, of every year as it was Louis Braille's birthday. The event served as a platform to highlight the importance of Braille in empowering visually impaired individuals and fostering inclusivity in society.

The program was anchored by Aswathy, who ensured the smooth flow of events. Riya delivered an insightful speech on the significance of Braille, emphasizing its role in creating equal opportunities for the visually impaired. Anamika presented an engaging PowerPoint, tracing the history of Braille and its transformative impact on education and communication. The session also included a quiz conducted by Joysi, which brought an interactive element to the program. The quiz not only tested participants’ knowledge about Braille but also sparked conversations about the importance of accessibility and innovation. Through informative presentations and active discussions, the event underscored the need for greater awareness and advocacy for visually impaired communities. It was a thought-provoking initiative by the NSS to honor Louis Braille's legacy and inspire action toward inclusivity.
