CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE

To recognize the contributions of women in science, we, the teacher trainees of Sabarigiri College of Education, in association with NSS , celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, 2025. The event, held at 9:45 AM in the General Hall, featured inspiring speeches, presentations, and interactive activities promoting gender equality in science.

Anchored by Pooja, the event began with a warm welcome speech by Gopika. Jerin emphasized the need for gender equality in STEM, while Keerthy highlighted the achievements of pioneering women scientists. A major highlight was the Science Room Escape Challenge, organized by Bhavya, Pooja, Alaka, and Devika. It was an innovative game which included subject-specific problems from physics,biology,chemistry and maths.  This interactive game tested problem-solving and scientific knowledge, with myself Arathi and Muhsina from the Natural Science Department emerging as winners. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Sumayya. The celebration was a great success, inspiring attendees to support and encourage more women in scientific fields.

  TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 4 : Monday (04/08/2025) to Friday (08/08/2025) REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE 04/08/2025-Day 17 On the 17th day of my first phase of teaching practice, I reached the school by 9:00 am. After reporting to the office and signing the attendance register, I took up my assigned discipline duty in the High School section. Following the morning prayer, we settled in our allotted rooms. Since it was Monday, I did not have any subject hours scheduled. A little later, my concerned subject teacher, Renija Miss, entrusted me with the responsibility of completing the attendance register and the Noon Feeding attendance register for her class. This task was a new learning experience for me, as I wasn’t previously aware that a separate register existed specifically for noon feeding attendance. I successfully completed both registers. VISIT TO BUDS SCHOOL – A HEARTWARMING EXPERIENCE January 30,2025 As part of our NSS activities, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Buds School at Alayamon Panchayat. It was an enriching and entertaining experience that left a lasting impression on all of us. We, a group of 43 NSS volunteers along with our teachers Jaseena Miss, Sreedevi Miss, and Prathibha Miss, traveled to the school . We reached the school at 10:30 AM and were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers. Due to space constraints, we arranged the seating outside, ensuring a comfortable setup for all. Our friend Aravind introduced us to the students, and soon we learned about their remarkable achievements. Many of them had participated in Kalolsavam and won great honors, proving their exceptional talents.
