WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY
WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY
On March 18, 2025, the teacher trainees of Sabarigiri College of Education successfully organized a vibrant and engaging event to mark World Consumer Rights Day. The celebration aimed to spread awareness about consumer rights, ethical consumerism, and legal protections in an interactive and impactful manner. The event featured a mix of informative sessions, engaging activities, and competitions, ensuring that participants not only gained knowledge but also had fun in the process.
The program began with Anupama anchoring the event, setting the tone for an insightful session. Anakha delivered a well-structured PowerPoint presentation, offering valuable insights into consumer rights, responsibilities, and the importance of making informed decisions in the marketplace. To make the session more interactive, Revathy conducted a unique game in which she displayed everyday household items like sugar, salt, tomatoes, and onions, challenging participants to guess their current market prices. Two participants from each department took part in this engaging challenge, with Prathibha and Stephy from the English department emerging as winners.
The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty made the event a great success. It not only deepened awareness of consumer rights but also highlighted the importance of responsible purchasing decisions in daily life. The celebration reinforced the necessity of being an empowered and informed consumer in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Reeba, expressing gratitude to all the organizers, participants, and faculty members for their support and active involvement. Through this initiative, Sabarigiri College of Education once again demonstrated its commitment to education beyond textbooks, fostering awareness and responsibility in its students.
