GENERAL REFLECTION - WEEK 5

WEEKEND GENERAL REFLECTION: Week 5

August 18, 2025, we held a reflection session at Sabarigiri College from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the general hall. The session was attended by our principal, Roy Sir, along with Sreedevi Miss, Meenu Miss, Revathy Miss, Jaseena Miss, Rakhi Miss, and Shyam Sir.

The session began with Joyce from Sabarigiri school, who shared her positive school experience. She felt she had significantly improved her personality, voice modulation, and classroom management skills, and had developed a strong bond with her first-standard students.

Next, Jerin from Punalur St. Goretti shared how her teaching skills had improved and how the school effectively managed curricular and extracurricular activities.

Ashna then spoke about her challenging yet insightful experience at Edamulackal Jawahar School. She noted that many students lacked basic knowledge, even in vocabulary, and she worked on changing their behavior. She also observed that reluctance between boys and girls still exists among the students.

Summaya from Ayur Jawahar shared her experience, noting that with a small number of students, it was easy to manage and build a strong bond with them. She also mentioned the tragic and saddening news of a tenth-standard student who died by suicide.

Arjun from Poredom School had a positive experience, highlighting how approachable the headmaster and students were. Bhavya from Puthayam School discussed their challenges with students who lacked fundamental math and language skills. Despite the difficulties, they grew close to the school and were sad to return to college.

Aiswarya from GHSS Karukone shared a very positive experience, praising the supportive headmaster and teachers. She noted that the students were good, and the main challenges were related to discipline and class management. Ameena from Vayala School shared a similar challenge, where many students lacked basic math skills like addition and subtraction, making it hard for the math department students to teach them.

Revathy from Yeroor School mentioned that the school had undergone many positive changes and the teachers were very friendly. Finally, Shifana from West GHSS shared a positive experience, stating that it taught her what a teacher should and shouldn't be. Soorya and Ashwathy also added to the positive reflections from West School.

The session was concluded with a speech from Roy Sir, who summarized the overall experience and outlined our upcoming work.

Overall, this school experience has been a new and memorable chapter in all of our lives.
