NSS SMRITHI PROGRAMME
NSS Smrithi Programme: A Day of Care and Compassion
On 29th August 2025, as part of the NSS Community Visit Smrithi Programme, we visited Sukrithi Bhavan. We had collected various items such as kitchen groceries, books, and daily essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and lotion. After reaching the college in the morning, we packed everything into boxes.
A team of eight seniors – Unnimaya, Shifana, Aparna, Silla, Anuroop, Shamnad, Aravind, and I – along with five juniors and our teachers Shmla Miss, Sreedevi Miss, Jaseena Miss (NSS Coordinator), and Shyam Sir, loaded the items into vehicles and reached Sukrithi Balashramam by 11 a.m.
There were 14 students at the Balashramam. We began with an ice-breaking session, interacting with them, followed by songs and dances. The children also sang songs for us, which made the day even more special. The building was very well maintained and clean, creating a positive environment.
We distributed the collected items and also shared chocolates with the children. Their happiness and smiles were truly heartwarming. Before leaving, we extended our Onam wishes to them.
It was indeed a wonderful and memorable experience for all of us.
