ONAM CELEBRATION

A Memorable Onam at Sabarigiri College

Our Onam celebration at Sabarigiri College of Education was held on August 26th and 27th.

On the 26th, we started the day by revealing our beautiful Onam banner, which had the theme "Dhe Maveli Pinem" (Here comes Maveli again!). After that, we went to the auditorium for some fun and games. Everyone, including the junior students, teachers, and us, participated. Dr. Sabari Sir came and shared a lovely Onam message with us.

The games were a lot of fun, including lemon and spoon, sundariku pott kuthal, sack race, kulam kara, biscuit kadi, vellam kudi, pazham theeti, and spin and make a goal. After lunch, we practiced our big Thiruvathira dance for the next day. We also spent time preparing flowers for the Pookalam until 6 PM and decorated our general hall.

On the 27th, all the students and teachers came to college wearing traditional Kerala clothes. The program was officially opened by our Sabarigiri Management Chairman, Dr. Jayakumar Sir. Principal Roy Sir gave a welcome speech. Silla was a great anchor for the event. Sreedevi Miss and Shyam Sir also gave speeches. Dr. Jayakumar Sir shared his Onam message. Pooja sang a beautiful Onam song, and Sarath gave the vote of thanks.

The highlight of the day was our mega Thiruvathira performance on the school ground, which was a great experience. This was followed by a flash mob by students from different departments. We also had a fun tug-of-war game between the juniors and seniors, which the seniors won! We won a bunch of bananas and shared them with everyone.

Afterward, it was time for the Onasadya. We helped serve the delicious lunch and then ate together. The celebration continued with more programs in the general hall. Shifa and Soorya performed a dance, a junior student and Sarath sang songs, and Sarath and Soorya did another dance. The kann ketti kalam adi game was a lot of fun, and both teachers and students joined in.

Finally, it was time to celebrate! We all danced together with our teachers to different songs. The Onam celebration was truly memorable.
