Some students remained in school for practice sessions, which we supervised. Later, the teachers and we student-teachers decided to prepare tapioca together — it turned out to be a fun experience! We cleaned, peeled, and cut the tapioca, boiled it, and shared it along with curry. By 3:00 p.m., we signed the attendance register and left school.

Day 19 – Friday, October 31st, 2025
As usual, we reached school by 9:30 a.m. and signed the attendance register. Since the District Level Science Fest began today, regular classes were not held for standards 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9. In the first period, I had class with my concerned class 8B and conducted a Diagnostic Test. The students were surprised but performed well.
During the second and third periods, I had substitutions in 10B. As the inauguration of the Girls-Friendly Hi-Tech Toilet Complex was taking place, I was asked to take some videos and photos of the building for official use. In the fourth period, I had a substitution in 8C.
During lunch break, we served lunch to the students and then had our lunch. After lunch, there were no regular classes. The inauguration ceremony started by 2:30 p.m., during which Adithya, an 8th standard student selected for the National Level Competition, was presented with a memento by the Panchayat President. After signing the attendance register, we left the school for the day.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In this week, students of 8B and 9B were taught the topics “Five Kingdom Classification and Its Advantages,” “Different Excretory Organs in Man and Their Functions,” “Kingdom Monera – Features and Examples,” “Kingdom Protista – Features and Examples,” “Synthesis of Ammonia and Urea and Elimination of Urea,” and a Diagnostic Test was conducted for 8B. Several substitution classes were also handled in 6B, 8A, 8C, and 10B, where students were engaged in reading and short discussions.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During this week, preparations for the Sub-District Kalolsavam were actively going on. I helped in training 3rd standard students in group songs and discussed their costumes and makeup with the UP teacher. I also supervised dance and drama practices, assisted in the District Level Science Fest, and was assigned to take videos and photographs of the Girls-Friendly Hi-Tech Toilet Complex inauguration. Daily, we served lunch to students and assisted in practice sessions and supervision duties.
OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
This week’s experience was both academic and eventful. The classes went smoothly, and students showed good participation and understanding of the topics. Conducting the diagnostic test helped me evaluate students’ progress and identify areas for improvement. Participating in Kalolsavam practices, Science Fest, and other school events helped me understand the teacher’s wider role beyond classroom teaching. Overall, it was a fruitful and enriching week that strengthened my teaching confidence, classroom management, and teamwork skills.
