COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP AND NSS CAMP

DAY 1 - GRAMASPARSHAM

Day 1 of the NSS and Community Living Camp began with registration from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm, followed by a lunch break from 1.00 pm to 1.35 pm. From 1.45 pm to 2.30 pm, an ice breaking session was conducted by Sri Brahmanayakam Mahadevan, Founder Chairman of Sahajeevan Special School and OJASS, Thiruvananthapuram. The session was interactive, engaging, and enjoyable, helping the volunteers feel comfortable and connected with one another.

From 2.45 pm onwards, the formal inauguration ceremony and adoption of Manasa Gramam were held. The programme began with the NSS song, followed by a welcome speech delivered by NSS volunteer Unnimaya Prathap. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Roy G., Principal, Sabarigiri B.Ed College. The camp was officially inaugurated by Dr. V. K. Jayakumar, Chairman, Sabarigiri Group, who also hoisted the NSS flag. Mrs. Sula Jayakumar, Manager, Sabarigiri Group, joined him for lighting the lamp and delivering the inaugural address.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sabareesh Jayakumar, Secretary, Sabarigiri Group. Felicitation addresses were offered by Smt. Jasmi Manjoor, Ward Member, Anchal Grama Panchayat; Smt. Asha B., Principal, Sabarigiri English School; Smt. Sreedevi V. S., Principal, Sabarigiri HSS; Smt. Sreedevi V. K., Assistant Professor in NS; Smt. Revathy U. P., Assistant Professor in GE; Smt. Rakhi R., Assistant Professor in SS; Smt. Meenu G. R., Assistant Professor in GE; Smt. Shamla M. Shams, Assistant Professor in English; and Shyam Kumar S., Assistant Professor in PS. The vote of thanks was delivered by Aravind Ranjith, NSS Volunteer Secretary.

After the inauguration, a tea break and fresh up were arranged from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Community prayer was held from 6.45 pm to 7.30 pm. In the evening, from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm, a motivational and interactive session was conducted by Dr. Edakkidam Santhakumar, which was inspiring and thought-provoking. This was followed by cultural programmes from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, showcasing the talents of the volunteers. Dinner was served from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm, and the day concluded with lights off at 10.45 pm.

Overall, the first day of the camp was meaningful and energetic, setting a positive foundation for the NSS and Community Living Camp.
