WEEKEND REFLECTION-WEEK 2

WEEKEND REFLECTION : WEEK 2  27/07/2025 As part of our first phase of teaching practice, the Natural Science Department conducted our second weekly reflection session on Sunday, 27th July 2025. The Google Meet session began at 11:00 a.m. and concluded by 12:00 p.m. The session was held in the presence of our respected department head, Sreedevi Miss. The session began with the teacher inviting us to share our experiences from the second week. Every trainee from each school was given a chance to share their experiences. A remarkable experience was shared by Aparna and Pooja from Karavaloor GHSS. They had the opportunity to witness a surprise inspection by the DEO (District Educational Officer). The DEO also conducted a short meeting specifically for the teacher trainees, where he shared valuable insights and suggestions, including the importance of conducting activity-oriented lessons and relating content to real-life examples. TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 2: Monday ( 21/07/2025) to Saturday (26/07/2025) REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE   Day 6 -21/07/2025 We, four teacher trainees, reached the school by 9:30 am. Today was the inauguration ceremony of Karukone Pre-Primary Varnakoodaram . The school was beautifully decorated, and the stage arrangements were going on smoothly. After signing the attendance register, we met the Headmaster and proceeded to the allotted staffroom. I had no concerned class periods today. After the morning prayer, we engaged in our daily duties. Renija Teacher and Mini Teacher gave me instructions as I was part of the Documentation Committee for the program.  During the third period , we were asked to monitor a quiz competition conducted by the Library Council as part of Reading Day celebrations.   WEEK END REFLECTION - WEEK 1 20/07/2025 We, the Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education, conducted our weekly meeting under the guidance of Sreedevi Miss based on our first phase of teaching practice. The Google Meet started at 7:30 pm and ended at 8:30 pm. In this meeting, the teacher asked each of us, from different schools, to share our experiences. Ameena from GHSS Vayala started first. She shared both her good and bad experiences in the classroom. Then Muhsina, representing Punalur St. Goretti School, spoke about her school experience and mentioned that her classes are always monitored by her subject teacher.  Next, it was my turn. I shared my classroom experiences, explaining that my 8th standard students are well-behaved and attentive, but I face some difficulties with the 9th standard students. TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I : WEEK 1 Monday to Friday : 14/07/2025 to 18/07/2025 INTRODUCTION Our first phase of teaching practice is at GHSS Karukone from 14/07/2025 to 26/09/2025.The principal of Sabarigiri College of Education, Anchal Dr. G. Roy alloted four students to the school. I (Arathi.B.G) and Akshaya.S from Natural science department, Aishwarya and Gopika from physical science department. Our department head Sreedevi miss provided us with all necessary instructions, guidance and support for completing our teaching manual, selective activities for models for teaching and preparing teaching aids for teaching practice. REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE We the teacher trainees allotted to G.H.S.S Karukone reached school at 9.30am everyday, then signed our register and stayed in the staff room, where our teacher allotted us to sit. SPORTS DAY

  Sports Day – 19th July 2025 We conducted our College Sports Day on 19th July 2025. The events included 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay, shot put, and cricket ball throw. We reached college by 9:00 am and assembled house-wise for the morning assembly. During the assembly, we took the sports oath, which was led by our Sports Chairman, Pooja. Following this, our Principal, Roy Sir, officially inaugurated the Sports Day with an inspiring speech.  All students had already been assigned to different committees. I was part of the Technical Committee . The competitions began with the 200m race. Although the weather was not very supportive, we managed to conduct all the events successfully. I also participated in the shot put throw and cricket ball throw events. During the competitions, a few students required minor first-aid, and proper attention was given promptly. READING DAY

National Reading Day in India is celebrated on June 19th  annually to commemorate the death anniversary of P.N.  Panicker, the "Father of the Library Movement" in Kerala, and to promote reading and literacy.  The week following Reading Day is also celebrated as Reading Week. As part of the celebration we conducted a programme at general hall. All student teachers shared their favourite books to other and gave a description about the book.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

  BLOOD DONATION CAMP We observed World Blood Donation Day as part of our NSS programme. The event was held at Sabarigiri Institution with the full support of the management. Many teachers and students took part in the donation drive. St. Joseph Mission Hospital, Anchal, facilitated the blood collection. It was a small step towards saving lives and helping others.
