WEEKLY REFLECTION-WEEK 8

Weekend Reflection – Week 8 27/09/2025 On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education conducted its weekly reflection meeting via Google Meet from 8:25 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. This session marked the eighth week of our teaching practice, where all teacher trainees shared their valuable school experiences. We were instructed to conduct an achievement test on the 9th or 10th of September and to complete our innovative work. We were also reminded that the next reflective session would be held on the coming Saturday at the college. Our teacher provided us with guidance and essential instructions, and further reminded us that Phase One of our teaching practice had been extended until October 10. The session concluded at 8:45 p.m.

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1- EIGHTH WEEK

TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 8: Monday  (22/09/2025 ) to Friday (26/09/2025) REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE  Day 38: Monday (22/09/2025) On the 38th day of our teaching practice, we reached the school at 9:30 a.m. In the morning, I had discipline duty in the HS section. After that, I signed the attendance register and went to our allotted classroom. Since it was Monday, I had no regular classes. During the 3rd period, I went for substitution in 8B and taught the topic “ Parts and Functions of a Compound and Simple Microscope. ” In the 4th period, I was assigned duty to conduct a quiz for LP students. The first was a Kadamkatha Quiz, where the answers given by the students were very funny and enjoyable. Then we conducted a Maths Quiz along with LP teacher Nisha, where I assisted her. By noon, I helped serve lunch to the students. In the 5th period, I again went to 8B for substitution and taught the topic “ Magnification Power of a Microscope and Resolution of the Human Eye .” ...

WEEKEND REFLECTION - Week 7 21/09/2025 On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education held its weekly reflection meeting via Google Meet from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. This session marked the seventh week of our teaching practice, where all teacher trainees shared their valuable school experiences. A common concern discussed was the challenge of managing classes due to cultural programs and the science fest. Our teacher provided guidance and essential instructions to follow, and also reminded us that Phase One of our teaching practice will conclude on September 29. The session wrapped up at 7:30 PM.

TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 7: Monday  (15/09/2025 ) to Friday (19/09/2025) REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE Day 33 : Monday (15/09/2025) We reached school by 9:30 am and signed the attendance register. Today was a special day as three important events were organized, starting with a special school assembly. Everyone was excited because the school recreated Teachers’ Day, which had fallen on a holiday. Around 90 students dressed up as teachers, wearing sarees and formal attire, and were given classes and subjects to teach. It was wonderful to see the little ones take on the role of teachers with such enthusiasm. The assembly began with a prayer, followed by the Headmaster’s welcome speech. He also conveyed his best wishes to all student teachers. PTA members, the school principal, and several guests graced the stage. WEEKEND REFLECTION - Week 6 14/09/2025 This Sunday, September 14, 2025, the Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education held its weekly reflection meeting via Google Meet from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This session marked the sixth week of our teaching practice. The meeting was a chance for all of us to connect and share our experiences. Miss went around to each school group, asking us to update everyone on our class schedules and teaching plans. It was interesting to hear that many of us are facing similar challenges, especially not getting enough class time because of various school programs.    Many students expressed that they were unable to get enough classes to finish the planned portions due to co-curricular activities in their schools, such as Sports Day celebrations, cultural fests, and PTA meetings.  After discussing our completed work and upcoming submission deadlines, our teacher gave us an important new instruction: to prepare and c...

TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 6: Monday  (08/09/2025 ) to Friday (12/09/2025) REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE Day 28: Monday (08/09/2025) Back to School: Teaching Practice Resumes After a long vacation, our teaching practice resumed at school on September 8 , 2025. We teacher trainees gathered at school by 9:30 am, eager to dive back into our roles. Our first stop was a visit to our HM, Shyju Sir, to submit our attendance registers and letters from college. After signing in, we headed to our designated staff room. As it was a Monday, I didn't have any class hours, but our Physical Education teacher, Saju Kumar Sir, approached us with some exciting tasks. With the school's Sport Meet scheduled for September 9-10, he needed our help with preparations. I was tasked with creating a list of sports items and duty lists for teachers.
