VISIT TO BUDS SCHOOL – A HEARTWARMING EXPERIENCE January 30,2025 As part of our NSS activities, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Buds School at Alayamon Panchayat. It was an enriching and entertaining experience that left a lasting impression on all of us. We, a group of 43 NSS volunteers along with our teachers Jaseena Miss, Sreedevi Miss, and Prathibha Miss, traveled to the school . We reached the school at 10:30 AM and were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers. Due to space constraints, we arranged the seating outside, ensuring a comfortable setup for all. Our friend Aravind introduced us to the students, and soon we learned about their remarkable achievements. Many of them had participated in Kalolsavam and won great honors, proving their exceptional talents. The program began with a song performance by one of the students, which we all enjoyed and applauded. Martyrs' Day, observed annually, honors the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for the nation. This day is particularly significant as it marks the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948, reminding us of the values of truth, non-violence, and patriotism that he upheld.  INDIAN NEWSPAPER DAY CELEBRATION January 29,2025 On January 29, Sabarigiri College of Education celebrated Indian Newspaper Day in the general hall. This day marks the importance of newspapers in shaping public opinion, spreading awareness, and strengthening democracy. I, Arathi, was the anchor for the event. Muhsina delivered a speech on the importance and significance of newspapers. Jaseena Miss shared insights about newspapers in the early days and how they have evolved over time. A video presentation showcased the history and pathway of newspapers in India.  An interesting quiz session, conducted by Aparna, engaged the audience and tested their knowledge of newspapers. ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAMME - NSS

ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAM  January 28, 2025 On January 28, 2025, we organized a Road Safety Awareness Program to promote safe driving. As part of the event, we conducted a rally, carrying placards with important road safety messages. The placards reminded people to wear helmets, follow traffic signals, avoid overspeeding, and not use mobile phones while driving. We also delivered a road safety awareness message, emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules to prevent accidents. We visited Anchal Chandamuk Bus Stand, where we distributed road safety pamphlets to bus drivers and other vehicle operators. The pamphlets contained guidelines on safe driving and traffic rules. Many drivers appreciated the effort and showed interest in learning more about road safety. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION AT SABARIGIRI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION   JANUARY 27, 2025 On January 27, 2025, Sabarigiri College of Education celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. Traditionally observed on January 26, the celebration was held on the 27th this year as the 26th fell on a Sunday. The program commenced with Ashna, the anchor, warmly welcoming the attendees and setting a vibrant tone for the event. National Girl Child Day is observed annually on 24th January aimed at promoting the rights, empowerment, and potential of girls across India. Theme: "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future" emphasizes equal opportunities for girls in education, healthcare, and personal growth.  The event included speeches, a poster presentation, and a skit. NETAJI SUBASH CHANDRA BOSE JAYANTI CELEBRATION January 23, 2025 On January 23, we celebrated the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with great enthusiasm and respect. The program began with anchoring by Suja, followed by a welcome speech by Prathibha. The Principal addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, emphasizing Netaji’s role in India’s freedom struggle. Arya then shared insights about Subhas Chandra Bose’s life and his immense contributions to the nation. A patriotic song by Prathibha and Anju set the tone, while a video presentation further highlighted Netaji’s inspiring journey. POSTER COMPETITION FOR NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE JAYANTI January 22,2025 On January 22 at 2 pm, as part of the celebration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti under the NSS, a poster drawing competition was organized. The competition had a time limit of 30 minutes and witnessed enthusiastic participation. Each department was represented by groups of three students, ensuring a vibrant and creative contest. The event was efficiently monitored by the English department, ensuring a smooth and fair experience for all participants. From the Natural Science department, Anuroop, Akshaya, and I took part in the competition. Despite the spontaneity and hurried pace, it turned out to be a fun and memorable experience.   AN INSPIRING VISIT TO LEXICON ARTS AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION January 17, 2025   On January 17, 2025, we, the B.Ed. trainees, had the privilege of visiting the Lexicon Arts and Science Exhibition organized by the Sabarigiri Govt. DMLT Institute. The exhibition was a wonderful fusion of creativity, knowledge, and innovation, leaving us amazed by the dedication of the students. One of the main themes of the exhibition was infertility and reproductive health. Detailed models of male and female reproductive organs, zygotes, embryos, sperms, and ova were showcased. Students explained various conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts. The process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) was also illustrated, along with diet plans and foods that help boost fertility for both men and women. The presentation was both informative and engaging.   STRESS MANAGEMENT January 15,2025 On January 15, 2025, in the afternoon session of the Capacity Building Programme on Stress Management, Arya welcomed us back with an energetic speech. This session, held in our college’s general hall in association with the IQAC and Counseling Cell, was designed to deepen our understanding of stress management and coping strategies. The session began at 1:45 pm with an interactive activity where a few students were invited to talk about their abilities and skills. I, too, had the opportunity to speak, which was both enlightening and engaging. Dr. Bindhu then introduced the topic of stress management. Born on the day in 1863, he was one of the country's best authors and religious teachers.  Swami Vivekananda's teachings continue to inspire young minds to strive for excellence and societal progress.   MELODY AND MEMORIES P. Jayachandran, fondly known as Bhava Gayakan , was a legendary Indian playback singer celebrated for his soulful and emotive voice. Born on March 3, 1944, in Kerala, he mesmerized audiences with his music across multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. With over 16,000 songs to his credit, he worked with iconic composers like G. Devarajan, M. S. Baburaj, and Ilaiyaraaja. His contributions earned him prestigious awards, including a National Film Award and multiple state awards. Jayachandran’s music continues to inspire generations, making him a cherished icon of Indian cinema. He passed away on January 9, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy. National Bird Day is celebrated on January 5th each year to raise awareness about the importance of birds in the ecosystem and to promote their conservation. The Avian Welfare Coalition established the day in 2002.  The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of birds and the need for their conservation. The event began with Ameena’s welcoming address, followed by Akshaya, who shared insights into the significance of National Bird Day. Arya highlighted the diseases affecting birds, while Aparna engaged the audience with an exciting quiz. Muhsina discussed endangered bird species and ongoing conservation efforts, and Nuju presented the event's theme, stressing the importance of protecting nature.
